Grand Hot Chocolate




There are some recipes that when combined, they come together to make an even better recipe. That’s exactly what happens with this recipe. Combines the sweetness of the hot chocolate with the orange flavor of the Grand Manier.

Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces chocolate chips, bittersweet
  • 4 ounces pisco or rum
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • A pinch salt
  • 3 ounces Grand Marnier or Cointreau
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Candied orange peel garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 4 orange zest (2-inch pieces)


Method of Preparation:
1. Place the sugar, salt and cocoa powder in a saucepan. Incorporate the milk, bittersweet chocolate and milk chocolate.
2. Over medium heat stir the mixture until the chocolate is completely melted and hot.
3. Beat it gently to smoothen the mixture.
4. Remove from heat and pour the rum or pisco and Grand Marnier.
5. Divide the mixture into four mugs.
6. Rub the orange zest in the rim of each mug.
7. Top the chocolate pisco with whipped cream, orange zest and candied orange peel.
