Peppermint Hot Chocolate





The hot chocolate will keep you warm. But this chocolate and peppermint recipe will not only keep you warm, it’ll also deliver a fresh minty taste.

Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate (60% cocoa), chopped
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup chilled whipped cream, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
Method of Preparation:
1. Place 1/2 cup whipped cream in a bowl and incorporate 1 teaspoon sugar.
2. Whip the mixture until soft peaks form.
3. Place the mixture in the fridge and allow it to chill.
4. In a saucepan combine 2 tablespoons sugar, milk and the remaining 1/2 cup whipped cream.
5. Stir often and cook over medium heat.
6. Bring the mixture to boil.
7. Beat it until it’s smooth.
8. Stir in the peppermint extract.
9. Remove from heat and divide the hot chocolate into mugs.
10. Top the hot chocolate with chilled whip cream.
